Aesthetic Pt. 1 | Sincerely Tommy & ANTHOM
Aesthetic - the philosophical theory or set of principles governing the idea of beauty at a given time and place.
This feature all began as an idea. I wanted to document and share my favorite New York boutiques that inspire me as soon as I enter their space. We begin with Sincerely Tommy, a new Brooklyn Boutique brought to life by the creative vision of its owner Kai Avent-DeLeon
Upon entering Sincerely Tommy, I am immediately taken with the decor of the space. Warm and inviting, minimal and artfully curated. Kai has done a masterful job merging cafe, and boutique together. Bursting with amazingly talented designers, both local and abroad; Sincerely Tommy gets my creativity flowing every time I pay a visit. Thank you Kai for bringing such a space to Bed-Stuy.
Next up is ANTHOM's Chelsea store. Friends, Ashley, Carla, and Marshall opened up their second ANTHOM location last year, and it remains one of my favorite places to visit. Visually stunning, clean and pieced together beautifully; ANTHOM too offers a great variety of clothing and accessories.
The atmosphere is welcoming, and I never know whether I'm going to see Ashley or Kate upon entering, but I do know that the welcome will be filled with smiles and hugs.
I am mostly attracted to these boutiques because they speak to me as a style conscious individual. Things are unique, they stand out, and you have to have a strong sense of who you are as well as confidence in your personal style to want to shop these places.
Both these boutiques are an extension of their owners, and you can feel their personalities run throughout. Never about offering the latest trends, ANTHOM and Sincerely Tommy's 'Aesthetic' runs deep. These places attract people who share similar views when it comes to style and fashion, and I am one of them.
I implore all to shop small business, and to find those unique things that tell who you are, without you having to say a word. With so much fast fashion, the latest "it" trend, a copy and paste of the same styles and no sense of creativity or imagination... Sincerely Tommy and ANTHOM are a safe haven for those looking to express themselves through personal style.
